Spotlight on Nicola – Head of Growth

Nicola has been at Tag Digital since 2019. Over the years she has progressed in her role as Growth Manager to Head of Growth. See what Nicola has to say about her time working at Tag Digital:

What did you do before working at Tag Digital?

I was an account manager in a consumer marketing agency that focused on all aspects of online and offline marketing for UK based companies. My job was all rounded from managing clients, setting up PPC campaigns, SEO and building websites.

What attracted you to working at Tag Digital?

Tag Digital is a rapidly growing agency that had found its niche – focusing on paid media for the events industry. I was attracted by the fast-paced growth and international expansion within this focused sector of paid digital media marketing.

I loved the idea of honing my skills in one area and being an account manager for such large international clients. 

How long have you worked at Tag Digital?

Almost 4 years – It’s my tag-iversary on the 3rd of June!

What is your role at Tag Digital and what does it entail within the business?

Head of Growth – I head up the Growth Team. The Growth team consists of Growth Managers, Marketing Managers and Executives.

The Growth team’s role is to nurture our current event organiser clients through education and relationship building, along with growth within these organisers through product expansion and boosting the volume of events that we work on. 

We also have a strong focus on the sales element at Tag Digital, with marketing driving new leads and Growth Managers focusing on converting these leads in order to hit our monthly revenue targets. 

As the Head of Growth, it is my responsibility to set targets, and ensure the Growth team is hitting the monthly revenue goals. I also have an overview of all clients across the sectors and monitoring their progression and growth. 

What’s your favourite thing about your job?

No two days are the same. The job is very fast-paced due to the high volume of clients we work with but it’s great to be able to work with such a variety of clients around the world. 

In 2022, we launched our very own event, DigitX with launch events in Dubai, at the UK Pavillion at Expo 2020, in March 2022 and in New York in October 2022. It was an incredible experience to step into our clients’ shoes and be involved with planning and executing these events alongside our marketing team.

What do you enjoy most about working at Tag Digital?

The opportunities that you are given for personal growth. I’ve been very grateful to have the opportunity to travel to Dubai, New York, London, Barcelona to attend events, host client workshops and do keynote speaker sessions.

These opportunities really help with internal growth, pushing yourself out of your comfort zone to make you grow within your role. Internal career progressions are also very important at Tag Digital.

There is always room to progress in your career, which I have seen going from a Growth Manager to Head of Growth over the last 4 years. 

What is the best thing you have learned since working at Tag Digital?

Relationships matter! Having strong relationships with your team and your peers is so important to build a strong foundation for a company.

Tag Digital has an open and honest culture where feedback is welcomed and we all grow from it, which is such a great environment to work in.

This also reflects how important it is to develop strong relationships with clients in order to help develop and expand our scope of work with each one.
