Senior PPC Specialist, Jamie, has been a valued member of our team since October 2019. Hear what he has to say about his role and how he has progressed at Tag Digital:

What did you do before working at Tag Digital?

Before working at Tag, I studied Events Management at university, however during my time there, I soon developed an interest in the world of digital marketing. It’s weird to think I’ve come full circle and now work in the world of digital marketing and events (best of both worlds!).

After graduating in 2016, I started an internship with a company in Glasgow that specialised in the development and marketing of cinema websites, focusing mostly on organic search marketing at the time. After a year or so, I decided I wanted to expand my knowledge beyond the realm of SEO. I moved to a job with another local full-service agency, where I developed the majority of my skills in paid search and social media. 

What attracted you to working at Tag Digital?

I was actually advised to come and join Tag by one of my close friends, who worked here at the time. The main attraction was the exciting opportunity to work for a fast growth company within an industry that is very close to my heart. During my interview, the passion and investment that Laura and Craig showed for the company really came across and it was instantly something I wanted to be part of going forward.

How long have you worked at Tag Digital?

I started at Tag in October 2019 – it has been a very fast couple of years, but I’ve loved every minute of it so far.

What is your role at Tag Digital?

My current role within the Tag Digital team is Senior PPC Specialist, however I am soon to progress into more of a training and learning leadership role within the new year, which I am very excited about.

What does your role in the business entail?

As a Senior PPC Specialist, my main role is to deliver a high quality of service to our key clients and drive strong results across our main paid search, display & programmatic platforms – e.g Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and DV360. 

Being part of the wider senior team at Tag Digital, I also have the responsibility to help our more junior team members with their progression and ensure that they feel supported within their roles – this can be through the delivery of training, mentoring or learning sessions/webinars.

What’s your favourite thing about your job?

I love the variety that your days can have and that no week looks the same. I also love that we have the trust and freedom to put our own stamp on things, whether we are looking to implement the latest channel innovations within our campaigns or we are developing processes to help with overall efficiency, we have backing to do so all the way from the top.

What do you enjoy most about working at Tag Digital?

It is 110% the best company I’ve been involved with. The overall culture that Craig and Laura have developed from day one suits me to the tee and makes coming to work every day an absolute pleasure.

I’ve been very lucky to meet some incredible people here over the last two years, all of whom I have grown very close with. We are definitely a very tight knit team here at Tag Digital and will always support each other when necessary – something that isn’t always the easiest to find.

I also enjoy the level of responsibility that the company entrusts me. It’s pretty rare for a company to put their faith in someone my age, however I am always appreciative of the opportunities that the company offers me to progress my career on an on-going basis and this definitely fills me with a lot of pride in what I do each day.

What is the best thing you have learned since working at Tag Digital?

Growth happens outside your comfort zone.

This is one of the first things that Laura said to me when I started at Tag and it has stuck with me ever since. Keeping this in mind has helped me take part in some of my most enjoyable moments at Tag so far, for example starting the Tag Digital podcast, or delivering webinars.

Not only has this message helped spark so much joy within my time here, but it has also helped me really progress within my role at a fast pace. It is definitely a learning that I always try to pass on to anyone new within the company.
