Jess has been at Tag Digital for 3 years, she has progressed into her role as Senior Paid Social Manager. See what Jess has to say about her career journey at Tag Digital so far…
What did you do before working at Tag Digital?
I graduated from Robert Gordon University and got a job in an automotive company, where I did my year-long placement (part of my degree). I was a Digital Marketing Specialist and then specialised in Search Engine Optimisation before I moved to Glasgow to start my career at Tag Digital.
What attracted you to working at Tag Digital?
One of my friends Fiona left the automotive company we worked at together to join Tag Digital – we kept in touch and she told me she loved working here and that the culture was great! She sent Laura, Tag Digital CEO, my CV, and the rest is history.
After working in-house doing Digital Marketing, I was excited and keen to get into fast-paced agency work and was given an amazing opportunity to specialise in Social Media – which is my passion.
How long have you worked at Tag Digital?
3 years in October – Time flies when you’re having fun!
What is your role at Tag Digital? How has this changed over the years?
I am a Senior Paid Social Manager, however, I started in an entry-level role in the Paid Social Team. Over the past 3 years, I have developed my knowledge, skill set, and confidence. This led to the promotion to senior staff member.
What does your role as Senior Paid Social Manager entail?
Managing all paid social media campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, Twitter, and Pinterest – to name a few (!!).
Specifically work for one of our long-standing clients, Informa, optimising the paid social campaigns and providing recommendations, to ensure the campaigns are successful and reach the client’s goals.
I also support the paid social team if they have any questions or queries and often host learning sessions, and educational series and join the occasional Tag Digital podcast episode!
What’s your favourite thing about your job?
I love that social media is always changing and adapting to the latest trends. Also, I really enjoy testing new innovations and developing new strategies based on how the platforms evolve. There is always something new to test.
What do you enjoy most about working at Tag Digital?
Tag Digital is the best place I have ever worked. The culture is great and you are more than just a number – which is very, very rare. I have realised this is very important for me to have in a workplace.
The management team are amazing mentors and we have an incredible team. I have met some of my best friends at Tag Digital.
What is the best thing you have learned since working at Tag Digital?
It’s got to be learning how to believe in myself and my abilities. My confidence has grown massively since my first day, thanks to the help of Laura, Alex, and the team providing constructive feedback throughout my career. They’re always pushing me to be the best version of myself.
Also, I have been given amazing opportunities for personal growth and development. I’ve represented the company at various events that pushed me outside of my comfort zone, giving me the chance to thrive and allowing me to grow within the company.
