There are other alternatives to geofencing if you want to target a competitor event. You can use custom intent targeting on the Display Network, which allows you to target people who are likely to have visited a competitor website. That means that you are not limiting yourself to the two or three days that an event is on, but are looking at traffic over a much longer period of time. It has much better results in terms of conversions and clicks as opposed to impressions and brand awareness whilst the event is on.
