The best way to use competitor campaigns is to do a mix of different things. You might use geofencing, you might bid on some brand terms, you might use custom intent on the Display Network. It is worth testing a few different ways to see what actually works the best.
One of the most successful things we have definitely seen is using custom intent on the Display Network and then following up with a video on your side to showcase all the benefits of your event over a competitor’s event
